Have you ever made a New Years resolution, only to give up on it a couple of weeks later?
If the answer is yes then you are not alone. I have done them all - joining a gym, giving up chocolate, dry January (after 2020 I doubt this one will be very popular).
So in 2020, after having a bumpy 2019 I decided to set myself a goal rather then a 'resolution'. I think the word resolution puts a lot of pressure on people to have to stick to their new changes, however making a goal felt like there was less pressure, it could be broken down into smaller goals to achieve the over all yearly goal.
I decided I was going to shop more sustainably and de-toxify my house.
Easy! - I got a piece of plain paper, broke it down into 12 boxes (for every month of the year) and wrote down what I wanted to purchase / swap over every month to help me achieve my goal. Did it work? Absolutely!
I found by writing it down and ticking it off each month, I held myself accountable but could also change the goal as I went along to make it more achievable.
